The 30th Michigan Infantry was raised in December of 1864 to help protect Michigan from Rebel raiders in Canada.  They were mustered into Federal service in January 1865 for a 12 month enlistment.  The Regiment’s company’s served all over Michigan including Fort Gratiot, St. Clair, Wyandotte, Jackson, Fenton, and Detroit.  The Regiment was mustered out on June 30th, 1865.
This will be a unique opportunity to take hold of a post war, waiting to go home, never saw the elephant impression.  You will be sleeping, eating, marching, drilling, and conversing right where the original boys of the 30th Michigan did exactly 145 years ago.  This is Michigan’s original ground please come and support it and use it!
