The 30th Michigan Infantry was raised in December of 1864 to help protect Michigan from Rebel raiders in Canada. They were mustered into Federal service in January 1865 for a 12 month enlistment. The Regiment’s company’s served all over Michigan including Fort Gratiot, St. Clair, Wyandotte, Jackson, Fenton, and Detroit. The Regiment was mustered out on June 30th, 1865. |
