Historic Fort Wyane is a special place for the Sally Port Mess. Besides being Michigan's original ground it is also where our mess started. For those reasons and more we are always looking for ways to support the Fort and the Historic Fort Wayne Coalition which is a volunteer group dedicated to keeping this piece of our history alive and well.

That is why we have decided that $5 from every registration will go to the Historic Fort Wayne Coalition to help them with preservation. Please visit the Coalition's website to see some of the recent work that has been done to the complex such as the rebuilding of casemate covers, tree removal, rebuilt porches, painting and much more. After the costs of the event are covered any remaining money will also go to the Coalition.

During the event we will also have fatguie details which help Fort Wayne. They will be period in nature so we are not destracted from our moment but hopefully they enhance the first person. Fatigue details in the past have envolved brush removal, sweeping the powder magazine, cleaning the barracks room, ect.
